A week ago, in one of Athens' squats, under guidance of Daniel Connell, we successfully built a proof-of-concept wind turbine. As there is a growing need for independent energy sources, also among political movement groups, we decided to follow-up by opening a new line of work. Here is our roadmap to start making small wind turbines for the people!
This roadmap covers the first stage of development of the wind turbines' line of products. Soon, we will add budget numbers and milestone dates as we see them.
The deliverables for this map are:
- A set of three different vertical wind turbines, installed at a test location and working in comparable conditions.
- Online monitoring units, providing live data on performance of each turbine.
- A set of three reference alternators, connected through calibrated transmissions (see the calibration procedure description) and providing energy for useful purposes in the test facility.
- Open and free documentation how to build and install said turbines with transmissions, mounting stands and generators, following our open source freemium model of economic activity.
The next stage after completion of this map will be to produce kits and turnkey solutions for users needing more than just knowledge and skills.
